How to use mapping types when importing files

Modified on Fri, 30 Jul, 2021 at 12:26 PM

This article guides you on how to use different mapping types when importing files. The following three options exist:

Single columns

This is the default setting and should be chosen when only one column in your file represents that fieldname. The name should represent the column's name in your .csv file.

Note: Consider upper and lower case letters and avoid blank spaces in front and after.

Multiple columns

In case multiple columns represent that work order field, select this option. An example is shown below with external remarks. You need to indicate each column's name in the system and separate them through a slash. By doing so, the system will bundle the information from all three columns and display it in the remark section.

Those different columns are bundled in the 'external remark' section. The **** represents the separation of those different columns.

Fixed value

Finally, you have the option to enter a fixed value instead of referring to a column name in the file. This is often used when it relates to the same Asset ID, Site ID, etc.
