Adding and editing Assets

Modified on Wed, 12 Apr 2023 at 02:47 PM

This article explains how to add and edit Assets to a site (see this article on how to add and edit sites, and this article for information about the different input labels).

1. There are two ways to add, edit and view an asset:

On the site

Go to Sites and select the 'Show Assets' button on the site where the asset(s) are to be set up, edited or viewed

Scroll down and click on the 'Add a new asset' button.

On the Asset menu
Navigate within the sites menu to the asset section and click on the 'Add a new asset' button displayed at the top
2. Add new asset
There are a number of fields you can complete. The ones that are mandatory are: Site (which is automatically selected when you add an asset to a site), Asset type (pre-defined in account settings), Name of the asset, Location, Company, and Asset ID.

Cable asset types can be connected between two assets under Location, by selecting the available assets or by manually specifying the latitude and longitude (when no asset is selected).

The system allows the ability to group milestones according to different types of assets/components/sub-assemblies. The milestones field shows all the assigned milestone mapping which have been assigned to that specific asset type. These milestones are defined in the account settings section, see here.

Exporting Assets

  1. Select assets
  2. Click on download button at the top right and the asset essential info for importing will be exported in csv. format. This will facilitate the edition of the items when importing them.
  3. You will get a notification when the file is ready to download.

Adding Asset custody

If you would like to see who is responsible for the asset on a daily bases you, can add asset custody.

The first step is to have the  Asset custody permission which can be done in the following way

Then you can edit your Asset

Once all fields are completed click on 'Save' to add to your site. The user can track the Milestones generated in the dashboard for each asset, and these will appear on the asset window so the user is able to edit them.
PLEASE NOTE: When you 'edit' an asset you will be able to add additional information like sub-assembly and components for that particular asset. In THIS article, you will learn how to add this information which can then be used here.

Power curve

You can also add a power curve to an asset type. Go to " Adding and editing a power curve in assets" for instructions on how to do this.

You will need all assets set up before you can apply sequences to them.
