Work package functionality

Modified on Wed, 12 Apr 2023 at 02:37 PM

This article will guide you on how to set up a work package.

The Work Package functionality allows you to group together all assets and work orders for a particular task. The advantage of setting up a work package is that you will be able to find all information about this activity (e.g building foundations) in one place. This is referring to information such as personnel, work orders, etc.

1. Go to the Menu bar and select 'Work packages'

2. Click 'Add work package' or if no work package has been added, click on the button in the middle of the screen.

3. Add Package name and start and end date e.g Foundations Installation. The dates will help as project reference in filters and resource downloads.

4. Click 'Save'

Creating a work package is as simple as giving it a name, start date and pressing save.

Once it is created you will see that package overview page.

a. In the 'tab bar' on the left side, you will get a quick overview of the content in the selected package and various control options. You can easily switch between different work package by selecting them.

b. The 'content page', is where you can add/view all assets, work orders, personnel, teams etc to the work package

If nothing has been added to a tab, it will show '+ Add' in the middle of the screen. Each tab consists of a list with search and filter options and an 'Add X' button in the bottom of the screen.

5. Navigate to the Assets section and Click '+ Add existing'

6. Select Assets

When adding assets, you have the ability to auto-select everything tied to the selected assets.

IMPORTANT: You are able to select the same asset on multiple work packages.

7. Click 'Update package'

PLEASE NOTE: All information related to those selected assets will be reflected in the Work Package if you activate the 'Auto select and Include...' section, which you find on the top of the window.

8. The reflected information will be shown in the summary like the picture below.

9. If you want to edit or delete any work package, click on the three dots next to it and select the desired action to proceed.

If some information is empty, there is no information on some of the sections in the work package overview, which means no data has been found for those sections related to the assets selected.

You can always add that information from the different sections tab on the work package.

For information about the different tabs, please see the Work package tabs article.
