How to open a CSV file in Excel

Modified on Fri, 19 Mar, 2021 at 11:01 AM

When opening a Comma Separated Value (CSV) file in Excel, it can cause some issues, depending on the regional settings on your computer. This is because the default delimiter, time, and date formats are different around the world, and our CSV exports delimiters are set to semicolon ";".

If you want to open a CSV file in Excel, no matter your region, please follow these steps:

1. Open a blank Excel sheet.

2. Click on the Data tab

3. Click "From text/CSV"

4. Locate the CSV file and select open

5. A new window will appear - set the Delimiter to "Semicolon"

6. Click "Load" on the bottom

Excel will now display the data as intended in Excel.
