When setting up personnel skills, there are two options: adding the skills manually (see this article on how it works), or the WINDA integration can be used, which automatically picks up the certificate's validity period.
Set up the integration
Create a WINDA account
You will first need to set up a WINDA organization profile.
- Register a WINDA organization user, preferably using a dedicated API account email address, rather than one associated with a particular person.
- Validate the user by following the email verification link.
- Send an email, including your WINDA user details, to info@globalwindsafety.org requesting API access for the user account for use with Shoreline. The default rate limit is 250 API calls a day. If you require more, include this information in your email.
WINDA should enable API access on the account and confirm by email.
Set up the configuration in Shoreline
Setting up your WINDA integration with Shoreline requires the WINDA company ID, username, and password.
- Navigate to the Account settings by clicking on Company name > Account settings, then Integrations.
- In the Winda section enter your Winda company ID, username and password.
- Click Save.
Set up skills to synchronise with WINDA
After setting up the WINDA integration, you can sync the skills you have in WINDA using the WINDA skill code. This will set up automatic capture and update of skills for relevant personnel.
You can match a skill to multiple WINDA codes. Use this for refresher courses, so e.g., the first aid skill is updated whether they have done the first aid course or a refresher course.
Shoreline syncs with WINDA daily at midnight CET.
- Go to Account settings.
- Navigate to Personnel > Skills.
- Enter a name in the New skill input.
- From the WINDA skill code dropdown, select the relevant option.
You can update existing skills with a WINDA skill code by clicking on the Edit (pencil) icon in the table.
